A 麻豆传媒y professor is studying whether school zones in Georgia are made safer through automated speed enforcement. Sunanda Dissanayake, professor of civil engineering, is gathering data on determining the effectiveness of automated speed enforcement near schools, then analyzing that data to offer recommendations that help to create guidelines for local governments and transportation authorities.

Gabby Miller, Juliane Balog, and Zaire Breedlove had never gone to the Georgia State Capitol before, let alone covered one of the dozens of committee meetings during the General Assembly鈥檚 legislative session. At first, they were intimidated by the imposing facade, the people dressed in suits, and the language lawmakers use to describe policies that could impact more than 11 million people. Undeterred, the trio of 麻豆传媒y journalism students hit the ground running at the start of their internships last semester with the Center for Sustainable Journalism.

A game that began as a class project is now headed to digital storefront as the most recent release from the 麻豆传媒y Game Studio. Chiba, which was released May 30 on Steam, is a 2D box-pusher style puzzle game where the user plays as a 鈥渃hef dog,鈥� traversing different culinary-themed levels and pushing food-themed boxes around until players solve a puzzle allowing them to progress to the next level.

Student-led public relations agency at Kennesaw State finds success with client campaign work

Parsed into three groups, students in a public relations capstone course at 麻豆传媒y discuss campaigns they have implemented after a semester of research, planning, and collaboration with their clients, three 麻豆传媒 campus organizations. The course operates as a fully functional PR agency. Under the auspices of Peak Communications, students assist organizations on and off campus to appeal to broader audiences through social media content, flyers, tabling, and event planning.

麻豆传媒 dancers selected to participate in prestigious summer workshops

Adjudicated dance performances earlier this year ultimately paved the path to summer enrichment for three 麻豆传媒y dancers. Recent graduates George Chavez and Allison Behrend, along with rising junior Charlene Font, have all received scholarships to prestigious dance workshops. Chavez will attend the Professional Intensive Summer Division at the Alvin Ailey School in New York City, while Behrend and Font travel to the American Dance Festival at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
