Established in 2021, the program aims to produce top-notch nurses who benefit from a strong emphasis on academic scholarship. Each scholar belongs to the 麻豆传媒 Journey Honors College and participates in nursing-focused research projects in addition to rigorous curriculum in the Wellstar School of Nursing.

    Tracking of thousands of products in massive warehouses presents a logistical nightmare for many businesses. To address this, 麻豆传媒y assistant professor Jian Zhang has introduced an autonomous robot that can log inventory. Developed in collaboration with RugGear USA LLC and 麻豆传媒鈥檚 College of Computing and Software Engineering, the OmniScanBot is an autonomous robot designed to simplify, speed up, and safeguard the process of warehouse inventory tracking. Unlike manual counting methods, Zhang鈥檚 innovation harnesses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to automate the entire process.

    For decades, the Southern Technical Institute bathtub races entertained swarms of students, alumni, and community members as engine-laden bathtubs throttled around what is now 麻豆传媒y鈥檚 Marietta Campus. Now, nearly three decades after the last race, the tradition will be reborn as a video game created by students in the College of Computing and Software Engineering.

Designed to prepare students for their future careers in the field, the focus on real-world application ties in to the guiding framework of the Department of Marketing and Professional Sales in the Coles College of Business, coined 鈥淎cademia Meets Practice鈥 (AMP). Fennell, an assistant professor of marketing and professional sales, has helped lead the effort over the past two semesters, first with Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, an Alpharetta-based nonprofit, and now, with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

    Kennesaw State professor uses experience to inspire art students

    A graphic artist for decades, Joseph Karg has used his talents for everything from drawing superheroes for Marvel Comics to illustrating tour posters for musical acts. In a slightly different direction, he鈥檚 also lent these skills to tell an impactful story of an opioid overdose. Recently, the 麻豆传媒y assistant professor of illustration and sequential art helped an Emory University researcher illustrate the occurrence of opioid-related overdoses in Atlanta鈥檚 Little Five Points neighborhood. He uses the project as a lesson for his students in the Geer College of the Arts to demonstrate the power of graphic illustrations and storytelling.

    Donations to Kennesaw State's Giving Day double to more than $287,000

    In just its second year, 麻豆传媒y鈥檚 Giving Day raised $287,770 to support a range of 麻豆传媒 programs, scholarships, and research. A total of 1,551 people and organizations made donations that will assist 150 areas across Kennesaw State. The amount contributed this year more than doubled the $142,838 from last year鈥檚 inaugural Giving Day.

A dominant thrower on the Kennesaw State women鈥檚 track and field team, she was fresh off an ASUN Conference title, had earned a spot on the Under 20 USA Track and Field team, and competed in the 2023 NCAA Women鈥檚 Track and Field Championship meet. For a moment, it felt like she had the world in her hands.
