Putting Children First

Shereen Zimmerman is the new Site Manager at Â鶹´«Ã½y. With over 15 years of service to Early Childhood Education as an Elementary Teacher and STEM Program Specialist, she will lead the charge in making Jumpstart at Â鶹´«Ã½ a premier program.

The goals of Jumpstart at Â鶹´«Ã½ include the following:

  • Serve students who attend ECE centers and daycare centers in the Â鶹´«Ã½ community through a lens of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Increase Kindergarten readiness for students in Pre-K programs using rich literacy learning sessions.
  • Increase teacher readiness and expertise in the Birth through Kindergarten Program through training, planning, modeling, and delivering effective literacy assessments and instruction.
  • Increase teacher workforce through successful acceptance, retention, transition, and progression through Â鶹´«Ã½ Bagwell School of Education programs.
