Welcome to Owl Advising Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment at 麻豆传媒 gives high school students the opportunity to earn high school credit while taking college classes in-person or online, allowing them to gain firsthand college experience and jump-start their futures.

Dual Enrollment students are required to meet with a Dual Enrollment Advisor prior to registering for classes each semester.

All communication from your Dual Enrollment Advisor will be sent to your 麻豆传媒 student email address only.

    Dual Enrollment Acceptance to Registration Process: 

    1. Complete the Checklist for Admitted Dual Enrollment Students.
    2. Meet with your high school counselor to discuss Dual Enrollment courses and policies specific to your high school.
    3. Attend a Dual Enrollment Orientation session.
    4. Attend a Dual Enrollment Advising appointment or drop-in session.
    5. Register for approved courses.
    6. Send a copy of your Dual Enrollment schedule to your Dual Enrollment Advisor and your high school counselor.

    New DE students will receive an email to their 麻豆传媒 student email address 24-48 hours after attending a Dual Enrollment Orientation session with instructions on how to schedule an appointment. 

  • Welcome back to Dual Enrollment at 麻豆传媒! 

    Current Dual Enrollment students should: 

    1. Meet with your high school counselor to discuss Dual Enrollment courses and policies specific to your high school.
    2. Attend a Dual Enrollment Advising appointment or drop-in session.
    3. Register for approved courses.

  • Dual Enrollment seniors who wish to continue at 麻豆传媒 after high school graduation will need to complete the following steps.  
     
    #1
    The best time to apply for the upcoming Fall semester is October-December of the previous year. Benefits to applying early include more time for applying for internal and external scholarships, better registration times, and more housing and parking options. 

    Once you have been accepted as a degree-seeking student, you may continue with Step #2. 

    #2 Sign up for New Student Orientation:
    This is different than the Orientation you completed when you were accepted as a DE student. 

    #3 Sign up for Pre-Orientation advising once you have your Orientation date.  

    Use this time to discuss classes, schedules, 麻豆传媒 life and more with your advisor. 

    #4 Explore scholarships and Financial Aid:  

    • Learn more about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Georgia Student Finance Application (GSFAPP) by talking with your Financial Aid counselor. Contact yours here!
    • Internal scholarships are due on March 1st. Go to and sign in with your 麻豆传媒 credentials to get started.

  • Students can attend advising appointments either in-person or virtually via Microsoft Teams. Students will need to log in to Microsoft Teams with their 麻豆传媒 login information.

  • Drop-in Advising sessions are first-come, first-served advising sessions. You do not need an appointment for drop-ins. Simply arrive during one of the times listed for your advising center and join the waitlist. You will meet with the next available advisor. If advisors are currently meeting with other students, there may be a short wait. Our goal is to assist you as quickly as possible. Wait times to see an advisor can vary, so plan accordingly. 

    New DE students should anticipate their drop-in sessions to last approximately one hour. New DE students should arrive for drop-in advising at least 30 minutes before the end of the designated drop-in times. Students arriving after that time may not be able to meet with an advisor that day.

  • Q: How should I prepare for my Dual Enrollment Advising appointment?
    A: Meet with your high school counselor about what classes you will be taking at 麻豆传媒 prior to your appointment. We recommend setting up your鈥, ,鈥痑nd using to look for classes that fit with your high school schedule before attending. 鈥 
     
    Q: There is a Dual Enrollment hold on my account. How can I resolve this? 
    A: You must meet with your Dual Enrollment Advisor before the Dual Enrollment hold can be lifted. We recommend you schedule an appointment or attend a drop-in advising session as soon as possible. 
     
    Q: I can鈥檛 look at classes because there鈥檚 a hold on my account. What do I do?鈥
    A: Even if you have a hold on your account, you can still look at classes using the Browse Classes link under the Registration tab in Owl Express or by using the public link. 
     
    Q: I need to make a change to my schedule. How can I do that? 
    A: Please ensure that you have approval for the change from your high school counselor. Once you have approval, contact your Dual Enrollment Advisor with a detailed message about the changes you want to make. Your Dual Enrollment Advisor will provide information about the availability of your requested classes and instructions on how to adjust your schedule. 
     
    Q: Can my Dual Enrollment Advisor make changes to my schedule on my behalf? 
    A: No, your Dual Enrollment Advisor cannot make changes to your schedule. 
     
    Q: Can my Dual Enrollment Advisor request special permission for me to get into a closed, waitlisted, or restricted class? 
    A: No, your Dual Enrollment Advisor cannot do this. 
     
    Q: I am seeing an error when I try to register for my class. What do I do? 
    A: You can view a list of common errors on 鈥痮谤 view this page from the 麻豆传媒 Registrar.

    Q: I am receiving emails from the Bursar鈥檚 Office about a balance due. Do Dual Enrollment students have to pay for their classes? 
    A: Dual Enrollment students may receive automated emails or text messages from the Bursar鈥檚 Office before their funding is applied. Students can typically disregard these notifications unless they are taking courses with lab fees, non-funded courses, or are self-pay. Parking permits, meal plans, or other out-of-pocket expenses will be the student鈥檚 responsibility. Please consult the to ensure your courses are funded and email the DEP Office at depoffice@kennesaw.edu for updates about your funding application. 
     
    Q: How do I check my funding status for Dual Enrollment? 
    A: Please email the DEP Office at depoffice@kennesaw.edu for all funding-related questions. 
     
    Q: How do I get my Talon Card, parking permit, and textbooks? 
    A: The DEP Office will send messages to students鈥 麻豆传媒 student email addresses with information on how to set up their Mobile Talon Card, purchase a parking permit, and pick up textbooks for their courses. For specific questions, please email the DEP Office at鈥depoffice@kennesaw.edu.
